Sadler’s Banana Hammock, Our 2018 Mike Sadler Tribute
– Sadler’s Banana Hammock and Hey Diddle Diddle go on tap at 3pm on Saturday, May 19.
– Bottle sales also begin at 3pm. Two options will be available: 1) A special package that includes one bottle of Sadler’s Banana Hammock, one bottle of Hey Diddle Diddle, and a commemorative glass. (About 150 of these will be available, and will be the only way to get the glass or a bottle of the Denver-brewed Hey Diddle Diddle this year.) 2) Individual bottles of Sadler’s Banana Hammock. (~400 bottles of these will be available.) There will be a limit of one package and/or two bottles per person.
– 100 commemorative crowlers (32 ounce cans) of Hey Diddle Diddle will also be made available for easy transportation home. Limit one per person.
– A sneak preview of these beers will be on Friday, May 18, as part of the Colorado Spartans – MSU Rocky Mountain Alumni Club event.
Mike Sadler was a gifted Michigan State University All-American punter and Academic All-American; however, his charisma, character, and ever-present sense of humor are the part of his legacy many people most remember.
Sadler’s Banana Hammock is a tribute to Mike as retold by several of his friends and teammates (Jack Allen, Max Bullough, Connor Cook, Travis Jackson, Ian Jester, Connor Kruse, and Marcus Rush) who helped create this beer based on the fond stories they recall:
Sadler’s Banana Hammock, a Belgian Triple with bananas, oranges (a favorite flavor in his craft beer), and 90 pounds of donuts, is a unique take to a unique guy. The beer will be released at the Colorado Spartans Social on Friday, May 18, and in the taproom beginning at 3pm on Saturday, May 19. More details (including the bottle label) will be released when they become available, but there will also be a limited bottle release in the taproom at this time. Hey Diddle Diddle, our 2017 tribute beer, was re-brewed and will also be back on tap. $1 from every taproom sale of these beers will be donated to The Michael Sadler Foundation.
Here’s some information about Hey Diddle Diddle, including articles and more information about last year’s event.
The brew day with Karen Sadler and Connor Kruse was just as awesome as we thought it would be!
